Man Charged With DWI After Striking Fort Worth Police Officer

Police said they arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after he struck a Fort Worth police officer on Interstate 30 Friday morning.

Fort Worth police said the officer was conducting a traffic stop on westbound I-30 near Oakland Boulevard when he was struck by the man's vehicle at 3:11 a.m.

The officer reportedly sustained head and leg injuries and was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth in unknown condition, according to authorities.

Police said they took the driver who struck the officer into custody and charged him with driving while intoxicated.
