A man is back in custody after escaping from a Harris County sheriff's office substation in handcuffs.
Deputies say the 20-year-old man was arrested after being pulled over for suspected drunken driving early Monday morning. After escaping from the substation, he was captured by mid-morning Monday.
Harris County sheriff's office Deputy Thomas Gilliland says the preliminary investigation shows the man exited a side door after a deputy went to another room to take care of some paperwork.
Gilliland said suspect, who was on parole, is a convicted felon.
Gilliland says that their policies and procedures are being investigated following the escape.
