Man Arrested, Charged in Woman's Fatal Fourth of July Stabbing

McKinney police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing on the Fourth of July.

Police said Tuesday that 32-year-old Michael Eric Pennington had been arrested and charged with murder in the death of 58-year-old Leasa Carroll.

Carroll was found stabbed to death at a home on the 2100 block of Chippendale Drive at about 10:45 p.m.

Pennington was taken into custody by police at the home.

Police have not revealed any motive or detailed how the pair knew each other.

Pennington is currently being held in the Collin County Sheriff's Office on $250,000 bond.
