Dallas ISD Police Chief Craig Miller said James Steven Gorman Jr. was arrested by Terrell police on outstanding warrants.

The school district had issued criminal trespassing warrants after Gorman allegedly parked across the street Thursday afternoon from the Charles Rice Learning Center on Pine Street and watched a young girl sitting in front of the school.

Officials said the man exited his vehicle, walked over to the girl and sat down beside her before telling her she was beautiful and asking if she had a boyfriend. The man then put his shoulder on hers, officials said.

The man ran back to his vehicle and drove away after a parent who witnessed the interaction asked him what he was doing.

An alert assistant principal snapped a photo of the man's truck, and Terrell police said the officer spotted the man's vehicle after recognizing it from news reports.

Gorman was transferred to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department Monday, where he was held on a $1,500 bond.
