Make Money by Checking Your Money

Some coins may be worth more than face value.

North Texans looking to make money are looking at coins in their purses and pockets.

Coins minted before 1965 are ninety percent silver.

One example, a 1937 buffalo nickel may be worth as much as $850.

"It is actually like treasure hunting because you have to dig through all the stuff and find stuff you never thought was in there," said coin expert Mike Grant.

For some, nickels can be turned into dollars bills, old dimes can be converted into five dollars and silver dollars can be worth up to twenty dollars.
