Major Road Closures Set for This Weekend

Three big road closures on major North Texas freeway construction projects will impact drivers this weekend, along the LBJ Express, DFW Connector and North Tarrant Express projects.

Main Lanes of I-635 LBJ Freeway will close in Dallas to remove the Marsh Lane bridge.  All traffic will be diverted to the exit ramps in both directions and then back onto the freeway beginning at 8 p.m. Friday night.  Other lane closures are scheduled on I-635 over the weekend between Harry Hines and Preston Road.

In Grapevine, main lanes of Texas 114 will close in both directions between Williams D. Tate and Main Street starting at 8 p.m. Friday for bridge removal.  That work will also close the eastbound feeder road, so all eastbound traffic must detour through Grapevine and off the freeway.

In Bedford at the intersection of Texas 183 and 121, the Murphy/Westpark Bridge will be closed.  That bridge is normally the key route from southbound 121 to eastbound 183.

Each of these projects also currently has other smaller closures and detours.  Officials urge drivers to check websites for the latest information.
