Police Investigating Shooting That Caused Major Crash as Possible Road Rage Incident

The northbound lanes of Interstate 635 in Balch Springs are shut down Tuesday afternoon after a major crash at Lake June Road.

Police in Balch Springs are now investigating a shooting that led to a major crash along I-635 Tuesday afternoon as a road rage incident.

Officers were called to a report of a major crash at 635 and Lake June Road just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Callers stated that a vehicle had flipped and a man was lying in the middle of the highway.

When officers arrived, they discovered the man had been shot.

He was taken by air ambulance to a hospital.

A juvenile passenger who was also inside the car was also transported to a nearby hospital.

Detectives have been unable to interview the shooting victim due to undergoing recovery.

Both victims are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 635 at Lake June Road remained closed for several hours as police investigated.
