Magnitude 2.5 Earthquake Shakes Irving Sunday

On Sunday night, the earth shook once again near the old Texas Stadium site in Irving.

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 2.5 earthquake along Century Center Boulevard, north of John Carpenter Freeway on the banks of the East Fork of the Trinity River at 7:46 p.m.

The depth of the quake is 3.9 miles.

The temblor is the latest in a swarm of earthquakes, the largest tremblors occurred Tuesday and registered magnitudes 3.5 and 3.6, respectively.

The quakes prompted new earthquake preparations in schools and agencies across Dallas County.

Sunday's earthquake is the 34th in the area since October. There have been no reports of injuries or significant damage from any of the recent earthquakes.
