Arrest in ‘M Streets' Burglary Caught on Camera

A Dallas family in the M Streets neighborhood hopes the public can help identify a crook caught on tape.

A couple of weeks ago, the Boswell family was sleeping when their alarm jolted them awake.

“We were asleep upstairs. It was 3 a.m. We heard the alarm beeping,” said homeowner William Boswell.

At first, they thought the wind had pushed open the back door, but it turns out a thief had pushed open the unlocked door.

Surveillance video footage shows the burglar, wearing socks on his hands, casing the house briefly before going in, swiping a laptop, wallet and watch, then running out.

“Just to think that somebody's crossed your threshold and been in your own area,” Boswell said. “At the end of the day the fact that everyone is safe, you can replace things but you can't replace loved ones.”

On Friday, the family confirmed police arrested the person they believe is seen in the surveillance video.

They said they’re relieved and are now encouraging neighbors to install surveillance cameras as well.
