A portion of Interstate 820 was closed in southern Fort Worth early Wednesday after police found a man with gunshot wounds inside a pickup truck with a shattered window, authorities say.
According to police, officers were called shortly after 1 a.m. to a crash in the westbound lanes of Loop 820 between Wichita Street and Campus drive.
First responders found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was transported to a hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
Officers closed all westbound lanes around the pickup as investigators processed the scene for evidence. All lanes were reopened at about 4 a.m.
Fort Worth police said it's not clear where the man was shot.
No further details were released.
