Local Business Suffers from Low Lake Levels

The Texas Water Development Board said North Texas lake reservoirs are down nearly 30 percent this year.

Lakes are normally more than 90 percent full at this time of year.

Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, in particular, is at its lowest level in the last 20 years. Scott Self owns a day cruise company there and said water is down so much, he can't dock his boat. So he poured thousands of dollars into extending the dock.

"The alternative is going out of business, which I'm just not going to do," he said.

The Fort Worth National Weather Service said it will take multiple days of rain to replenish water levels.
