Lightning Destroys 100-Year-Old Church

Lightning strikes are being blamed for a fire that destroyed a Fannin County church that stood for more than 100 years.

A pile of rubble is all that remains of The Main Street Presbyterian Church in Honey Grove after a fire early Sunday morning.

One half of the building dated back to 1901, while the other dated back to 1912.

The congregation held services in a member's home late Sunday, where the pastor said the church is already working on plans to rebuild.
