Sources tell NBC 5 that Deion Sanders is facing an additional charge in connection with an altercation between the former Dallas Cowboy and his estranged wife, Pilar.
Deion Sanders is accused of destroying a cellphone during the scuffle and faces a criminal mischief charge, sources say.
The couple will head to court Thursday for a 10 a.m. hearing.
Attorneys for both sides met in private in a judge’s chambers on Wednesday afternoon at the Collin County Courthouse.
Larry Boyd, who is representing Deion Sanders’ Prime Time Enterprise Inc., said a judge has extended a gag order for the divorce case to the couple's other legal woes.
Both sides said they would ask the judge during Thursday's hearing to lift the gag order.
Larry Friedman, who is representing Pilar Sanders in the divorce, said he feels his client has obeyed by the judge’s order and not spoken to the public about the case. But he said Deion Sanders did not abide by the gag order, saying there was more to his client's side of the story.
