Law Enforcement Agencies Team Up To Help Injured Officer

Chick-fil-A donates money, t-shirts sell out Monday

The fund to help wounded Fort Worth Police Officer Matt Pearce grew by tens of thousands of dollars Monday after an overwhelming response to a fundraising event at 18 Chick-fil-A restaurants across Tarrant County.

Chick-fil-A also donated 20 percent of sales between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to Pearce, and members of several police associations sold t-shirts with a #TeamPearce logo for $10 each.

The shirts sold out at some locations in a matter of minutes.

"Anything to support the community," one woman said, as she was standing in line for a shirt.

Inside, people waited in long lines to buy food.

Law enforcement agencies across North Texas are working together to raise money for an injured police officer.

The Fort Worth Police Officers Association tweeted late Monday that shirts can be ordered online before Friday.

NBC 5's Ken Kalthoff and Chris Jose contributed to this report.
