Lake Worth Closed to Boat Traffic

After three days of persistent rain, all city operated boat ramps on Lake Worth are closed.

The water level has risen about four feet in the past 48 hours, according to the United States Geological Survey. As of 11 a.m. Saturday, the lake level was recorded at 596 feet, two feet above the spillway.

Boat wakes can cause flooding in some homes, and hidden hazards under water could create a navigation hazard for boats.

People who live around the lake are asked to keep boats off the water while boat ramps remained closed.
