KISS Legends Open Rock & Brews in The Colony

KISS fans have a new place to grab a beer and listen to music in The Colony

Owners Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS were in town Tuesday to cut the ribbon and open their newest Rock & Brews restaurant.

The pair already have a Rock & Blues restaurant in San Antonio, but wanted to open a different kind of restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

"The future and the past meet here, different cultures, different people, different tastes," said Simmons. "We already have Rock and Blues in San Antonio, Texas and I don't want to demean San Antonio, but Dallas is where it's happening."

Gene Simmons of KISS talks about the decision to bring Rock & Brews to The Colony and recognizing the military.

Simmons said the restaurant in The Colony pays homage to Texas rock legends and features local brew masters.

"Here you can have a great meal, great drinks, great ambiance, the staff is fabulous, this place rocks," said Stanley. "At night it's the place to be, it's packed."

The grand opening was closed to the public but local veterans got a chance to get the first meals for free and meet Simmons and Stanley.

The pair also presented the "Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas" with a $15,000 check.
