John Wiley Price Withdraws Request for Legal Help

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price has withdrawn his request for a court appointed defender in his upcoming public corruption trial.

Price contends he can't afford the legal manpower required to go through all the evidence associated with this case but withdrew the request to avoid negative publicity.

On Tuesday, a federal judge delayed a decision on the request from Price for taxpayer help with legal expenses, saying Price had failed to properly complete the required affidavit disclosing his assets and liabilities.

Price was indicted for bribery and tax fraud last July after a long FBI investigation.
