Jogger Attacked in North Fort Worth

Police warn neighborhood after incident

Fort Worth police sent an email alert to a North Fort Worth neighborhood after a young female jogger was attacked Monday night.

The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. near the 12800 block of Campolina Way not far from Kay Granger Elementary School, police said.

The victim told officers she was jogging west on a walking trail when she saw a man running toward her.

The man grabbed her arm and forced her to the ground.

The girl kicked and hit the attacker until he ran away.

The victim, whose age was not released, ran home and her parents called police.

Neighbors reacted with surprise as word of what happened spread.

"My thoughts are it's surprising it's happened in this area because the neighbors look after one another very much,” resident Chris Dalluge said.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 160 pounds. He was wearing black sweat pants and a dark gray hoodie sweatshirt, which he had pulled over his head.

It was the first such incident in the area, authorities said.

Anyone with information on the attack is urged to call police.
