Irving Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Student Relationship

A North Texas high school teacher faces a criminal charge following accusations she had an inappropriate relationship with a male student.

Twenty-four-year-old Kaitlyn Renee Granado was charged Thursday with a felony count of having an improper relationship between an educator and student.

Irving police started an investigation after a school resource officer at MacArthur High School learned Granado had been involved in a romantic relationship with a student last year.

According to an arrest affidavit, Granado admitted to police during an interview that she had been involved with a male student, who was 15 at the time, in April 2014.

Irving school district officials say Granado has been placed on administrative leave.

It wasn't immediately known if Granado has an attorney.
