Irving Entertainment Complex Developer Launches Website

Developer says website offers "most current" information on project

The developer of a $250 million Irving entertainment complex has launched a new website to educate the public on the controversial project.

The website of the Las Colinas Group now redirects to the website, ForIrvingsFuture.com.

"We hope that this website is the most current information that the people and the citizens here in Irving can go to to get the complete information about the project," spokesman Shane Sumrow said.

He said it took about a month to develop the site.

"They can use this information to know all of the details about the project and be more educated when forming their own decisions about whether or not they support the project," Sumrow said.

The Las Colinas Group said it is trying to be as transparent as possible by presenting updates and information about the project online, but critics of the project disagree.

"I don't really make a point to look at propaganda, things of that nature," said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Gerald Farris, who has been voting against the project.

Farris said he is not sure the developer would come up with its $80 million part of the deal by an August deadline.

"With the track record, I really don't see it happening, but they could surprise me," he said.

Sumrow said investors are lining up but are waiting for the city to get its bond rating before signing any paperwork.
