A Garland woman remained in critical condition Wednesday at Baylor Hospital after her four-legged best friend named "Lemonade" turned bitter last weekend.
Barbara Chambers was in her back yard Saturday with Lemonade, her prize-winning Great Dane, and a poodle, when Lemonade suddenly lunged and attacked Chambers for no apparent reason, a neighbor said.
After police subdued the Great Dane with a Taser, Garland Animal Control workers later euthanized the dog, the Dallas Morning News reported. The poodle was quarantined at a veterinary hospital.
Lemonade was a male brindle show dog, the Dallas Morning News reported. Diana Oats of Garland Animal Control told the paper that it is unusual for Great Danes -- especially a show dog, to be aggressive.
