Authorities said they reopened Interstate 35E in Hickory Creek after clearing an 18-wheeler crash and hazardous material spill Tuesday morning. [[420986563,R]]
35Express officials said southbound I-35E was closed due to the crash at Turbeville Road/Hickory Creek Drive at about 5 a.m.
Traffic was detoured off the interstate at the Turbeville Road exit as crews cleared the crash scene. Traffic appeared to be backed up as far as Corinth Parkway.
Crews cleared the crash at about 6:45 a.m. and reopened the southbound lanes of the interstate about five minutes later.
