A South Texas man is nursing a gunshot wound to the leg after he told police his sleeping wife awakened, took him for a stalker and opened fire.
The woman is in Nueces County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault Monday after the Saturday incident.
A Corpus Christi police spokesman says officers arrived at the couple's home about 10 p.m. Saturday to find the man lying in the street bleeding from his left leg.
Senior Officer Travis Pace tells the Corpus Christi Caller-Times the man said he was in bed with his wife when she awakened and thought he was a stalker.

Pace said the man told her repeatedly who he was, but the woman pursued him with a gun, firing repeatedly, hitting him once in the leg.
