Hunting, Fishing Licenses on Sale This Week

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says hunting and fishing licenses for the 2014-15 seasons will go on sale Friday.

Annual hunting licenses for residents are $25, for fishing, an all-water license for residents is $40.  Prices for other licenses, lifetime licenses or for out-of-state guests can be found here.

"Every year, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department issues about 2.5 million hunting and fishing licenses  through the agency's 28 field offices, more than 50 state parks and at over 1,700 retailers across the state. Licenses may also be purchased online through the TPWD website at www.tpwd.state.tx.us/buy or by phone at 1-800-895-4248."

In a news release, the TPWD also reminds that hunting and fishing regulations for the new season can be found in the  2014-2015 Outdoor Annual, available at license retailers Aug. 15 and online at www.txoutdoorannual.com.  The annual can also be accessed via a new app debuting in late August.

Officials said 100 percent of fees received from hunting and fishing licenses go toward on-the-ground conservation efforts.

The current year's licenses will expire Aug. 31.
