Hunt County Sheriff's deputies said two officers shot a man who charged at them in Celeste early Tuesday morning.
Celeste police responded to a disturbance call at about 12:30 a.m. When officers arrived, authorities said a man assaulted two Hunt County Sheriff's deputies.
A deputy tried to use a stun gun on the man, but it had no effect. Authorities said another officer fired his weapon at the man, striking him in the abdomen.
The man was transported to The Medical Center of Plano by medical helicopter. His condition is not known.
No other injuries were reported.
Both deputies involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave.
