Man was standing between trains on parallel tracks when one derailed

A rail yard worker was crushed to death by a derailed train on Tuesday.

The accident happened just before 5 a.m. at Rescar Inc., a rail car repair and restoration company east of Houston.

The man was standing between trains on parallel tracks when one derailed, crushing him against an adjacent rail car, Harris County sheriff's deputies said.

The man's identity has not been released.

A cause for the derailment has not been determined.
