Hotel Murder Suspect Arrested in Texas

A man suspected of killing a woman at a South Dakota hotel late last year has been arrested in Texas.

Rapid City police say 59-year-old Brian Duncan was arrested in San Marcos, Texas, on Saturday on a warrant for second-degree murder in the death of 60-year-old Helen Wright.

Wright's body was found in a room at the Western Thrifty Inn on Nov. 4. Authorities believe she had been dead for at least two days. An autopsy indicated she had been assaulted. Authorities said Wright and Duncan had been living in the room.

Authorities are working to extradite Duncan back to South Dakota to be prosecuted. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
