A hotel in Grand Prairie caught fire Monday morning forcing some guests to evacuate.
The two-alarm fire started at the Budget Suites on the 2700 block of state Highway 360 at about 4:40 a.m.
The blaze started in an extended stay room, according officials.
The man who lives at the extended stay residence is staying warm in the hotel office. A woman in her 80s, who also lives in the residence, was taken to the hospital to get treatment for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters and police officers went door to door evacuating residents from nearly 30 units.
The Budget Suites general manager says the hotel will provide a place for residents to stay.
Firefighters tell NBC 5 that smoke alarms were not sounding when they arrived at the hotel.

The Budget Suites general manager tells NBC 5 that an extended stay resident told him that the smoke alarm and strobe lights both went off. Budget Suites claims those devices are tested every month.
NBC 5 has learned that firefighters have received reports that either a bed, clothes or a laptop could have started the blaze.
Fire investigators are looking into the official cause of the fire.
