Highland Park Police Arrest Package Theft Suspect

Highland Park police arrested a man they say stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of packages off front porches.

Officers tracked down Kyle Cassidy after he tried to return a pair of stolen shoes to a shop in Highland Park Village.

Employees didn't believe his story and called police, who say they then found even more stolen packages inside his Ford Fusion.

"We're not talking about a couple of packages, we're talking about a sedan, a mid-size sedan, that was filled full of packages. Different addresses, different names, they were in the trunk, they were in the back seat, they were in the front seat and so when all the inventory was pulled out of the vehicle, we had probably, estimated, about $50,000 worth of merchandise just inside the car."

Investigators believe Cassidy stole from porches of homes in Highland Park and Dallas.
