High Water Slows Traffic In Northwest Dallas

Drivers ran into large pools of rain water in Friday morning.

The rain caused a lot of problems for drivers in northwest Dallas Friday morning.

Spots near the intersection of Royal Lane and Interstate 35E were covered with water, but cars kept driving right through the high water.

It did slow traffic to a crawl near the I-35E exit ramps. A couple cars in the area stalled, and they needed to be towed.

Steven Flores watched from a nearby gas station as the cars drove through the water.

"This traffic is hectic, and normally you don't see a lot of traffic in this area," he said. "But with the rain. it's piling up."

However, most drivers were able to navigate their cars through the high water. The area could continue to be a trouble spot through the weekend.
