Reward Increased for High Risk Sex Offender

The Department of Public Safety is offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to the capture of a 39-year-old high risk sex offender who escaped from a Houston halfway house just after 6 p.m. Monday.

According ot the Texas Department of Public Safety, Timothy Rosales Jr. was "still on the loose" Friday. Rosales, considered armed and dangerous, cut off his electronic monitoring device and fled Monday night from the Reid Facility.

The DPS said Rosales, who's from the Denton area, was convicted of two aggravated sexual assaults in Potter County in 1987. Rosales is now wanted on felony civil commitment and parole violation charges.

Rosales is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 165 pounds and has brown eyes and numerous tattoos.

Texas Crime Stoppers offers rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:

·         Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

·         Text the letters DPS—followed by your tip—to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.

·         Submit a tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture to submit a web tip.

All calls, texts or emails are anonymous.
