Kids “Walk Like an Egyptian” For Tech Toys

Two North Texas elementary schools, finalists in online contest

Some North Texas third graders are hoping you'll help them win $30,000 worth of new tech toys for their classrooms.

A class at Harry McKillop Elementary in Melissa entered an online contest for a technology makeover for the entire school.  The students created a parody of the song Walk Like An Egyptian to showcase how they use technology everyday, and why they need more.

"We have a lot of media technology in the form of cameras, in the form of microphones, but we don't have as much instructional technology," said Karen Rose, a teacher.

Lancaster Elementary School also entered the contest.

Both schools won a spot in the finals. Now, they need your votes to help them win the $30,000 technology makeover.
