HEB Donates $150,000 to Support Victims of Church Shooting

HEB announced on Monday that it's donating $150,000 to help support the families affected by the tragedy in Sutherland Springs.

The grocery store chain also launched a statewide checkstand donation campaign.

Customers will have the option of adding $1, $3, $5, $50 or $100 to their total bill at the time of checkout.

In a press release sent to NBC 5, HEB's Vice President of Public Affairs Winell Herron said "It is our hope that H-E-B's donations, along with our loyal customers' support, will help our neighbors in Sutherland Springs. This is a difficult situation for many as they grieve and face unimaginable loss."

HEB stores in Floresville and La Vernia are also providing food and supplies to community support centers and local schools.
