Severe storms moved across North Texas Monday afternoon and evening triggering tornado warnings and flash flooding.
Rainfall totals of more than 3 inches were reported and numerous flooding problems occured.
In the Fort Worth area, heavy rain flooded garages and porches in River Oaks, and a foot of water flowed over I-30 near Ridgmar Mall.
Shortly after 9pm, TXDOT closed both directions of I-30 at Collins Street in Arlington because of poor drainage in the construction zone.
Westworth officials reported a swift water rescue during the heavy rain.
Rainfall amounts weren't as heavy in Dallas County, but many places still had more than 2 inches of rain.
Flooding due to runoff from heavy rain had prompted several road closures in Dallas County, Fort Worth National Weather Service meteorologist Jesse Moore told The Associated Press early Tuesday. There were reports of stranded motorists Monday night, but no injuries were reported.
Oncor reported 2,000 customers without power as of 8pm.
