Groundbreaking Planned for Grand Prairie Outlet Mall

Outlet to open Aug., 2012

Construction is scheduled to start this week on an outlet mall in southwest Grand Prairie.

The 420,000-square-foot shopping center will be located on the northeast side of the intersection of Interstate 20 and state Highway 360 near the Great Southwest Parkway exit.  The shopping center isn't far from Arlington's The Parks Mall and Highlands shopping centers.

The new development, which is planning to open in Aug., 2012, will have more than 100 stores, including Saks, J. Crew, Banana Republic and Nike as well as a food court.

"We are developing a well-tenanted outlet shopping destination that will not only offer a spectacular collection of the world's most recognizable designer and brand names at dramatic savings off regular retail prices, but a property that will bring more than 1,700 permanent jobs to the region," said Robert Brvenik, with Paragon Outlet Partners. "We look forward to welcoming each of our tenants to the Dallas-Fort Worth marketplace along with greeting thousands of shoppers as we open to the public next year."

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday morning.
