Starting Tuesday, Greyhound Lines Inc. will no longer provide service to Garland.
Greyhound travelers either have to catch the bus in Downtown Dallas or Mesquite.
The bus company is consolidating service at its agency locations.
The latest news from around North Texas.
"This is ridiculous what they're doing," said Benny Hemani, who runs the Garland Greyhound location.
He said he generates about $60,000 per year. Four buses came through the location every day.
"As it is, they are are hurting, and it's going to make their life difficult and consequently, the revenues will go down and when the revenues go down, the city will get less taxes," Hemani said.
Donnie Ketchum stepped off a Greyhound bus in Garland for the last time on Tuesday.
"I ride it two to three times a week, and I consider it our lifeline," he said.
Ketchum transports trucks from Garland to all over the country.
"I think it's bad, because we're in a good location and we need this, you know," Ketchum said. "It's actually devastating -- not just for me, but for other drivers, because they're going to lose a lot of money here."
Rowlett resident Karen Leonard said she liked the convenience of the Mesquite location.
"That's my gas money, you know," she said. "It's just ludicrous."
Garland resident Sean Mell said he preferred to take the Greyhound when going to San Antonio to visit his family every other month.
"The location is only two miles from my house, and it's a lot cheaper to take than my car, which doesn't give me the best gas mileage," he said.
Greyhound said travelers who already bought tickets from the Garland location can still use them in Mesquite or Dallas.
Travelers can catch a Greyhound bus at Greyhound Mesquite, located on 1331 Highway 80 in Mesquite, or the Greyhound Dallas location on 205 S. Lamar St.
Greyhound said Garland is so far the only agency location on the chopping block.
