A Greenville firefighter was injured battling an apartment fire Sunday afternoon on the 6000 block of Stonewall Street.
Officials said the firefighter fell through a roof at the Stoneridge Apartments at about 3 p.m. while battling the fire. He was treated at the scene and then was taken to Hunt Regional Hospital.
Police said that the residents escaped unharmed but several families were unable to go home.
Firefighters from Cash and Commerce fire departments also came to help put out the fire. One apartment suffered extensive damage from the fire while several others had only minor damage.
There is not information yet about what caused the fire.
