Gov. Perry Plans To Call Special Session

Gov. Rick Perry says he will call a special legislative session so lawmakers can address unfinished state business.

Perry said he hadn't decided when the special session would be held.

The Legislature adjourned its regular session June 1 without passing key bills that would have kept important state agencies running. Those included the state transportation and insurance departments.

Perry, answering reporters' questions as he began business leaders' roundtable, declined to say whether the contentious voter identification issue would be on the agenda.
