Girl Scouts Send Cookies to Overseas Troops

American troops overseas will soon get a little taste of home.

Project Troop to Troop is a partnership between the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains and a local non-profit organization.

Together, they encourage people to buy extra Girl Scout cookies to donate to the troops.

Thousands of boxes are now making their way overseas to troops around the world.

"[We] help them get it on the truck, then, after the truck leaves, a couple more girls help them unload and put them in boxes to ship over," Girl Scout Jacqueline Campell said.

Most of the shipment went to front line troops in Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Iraq.

Organizers say over 37,000 packages of cookies were delivered to service men and women stateside and overseas in 2012.
