The first AAA Texas retail gasoline survey of 2012 finds that prices statewide have jumped an average 6 cents this week.
The association on Thursday reported the average price statewide is $3.15 per gallon.
Gasoline prices have also edged up nationally, adding 7 cents this week to reach an average $3.32 per gallon.
Texarkana had the most expensive gasoline this week across Texas, at an average $3.19 a gallon. The least expensive gasoline in the survey was found in El Paso, at $3.02 per gallon.
Analysts said the growing global economy is expected to demand more crude oil, which generally pushes prices higher, along with the possibility of future disruptions to global supply. The association said concerns have been raised about increasing tensions between Iran and the U.S.
