A gas leak has closed down one lane of Preston Road in Dallas' Highland Park neighborhood, affecting Friday evening traffic.
The leak shut down all of Preston Road between Armstrong Avenue and Bordeaux Avenue for a time. Crews were able to find the source, a two-inch gas line, and open all but one southbound lane, a Highland Park Department of Public Safety spokesperson said.
Crews had to dig up part of the roadway to find the source of the leak, and construction is expected to keep at least the one southbound lane closed for an extended period of time, the spokesperson said.
The cause of the leak is still under investigation.
