Garrett's Teammates Inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame

In his NFL playing career, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett was able to play with two members of the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

"Two of the people that I had the good fortune to play with," Garrett said.  "Really stood out at the time as the best players on our team and certain Hall of Famers."

In his brief time with the Buccaneers, Garrett played with linebacker Derrick Brooks.

"I can remember my first rep in Tampa," Garrett said. "I was throwing a slant in the flat... somehow (Brooks) got over to a ball way over (to the opposite side of the field), and I turned around and said, 'What the hell was that coverage?' and it was just him. Him just reading my eyes and being all over the field, just being who he is."

But the Cowboys head coach had especially fond memories of his time playing with new Hall of Fame member Michael Strahan while with the New York Giants.

"He and I played together for four years," Garrett said. "He's got this amazing way about him, he has an infectious personality.  He's very welcoming, and when he walks into a room, he lights it up. I really, really appreciate our friendship and the time we spent together.  He made my time in New York significantly better."

Strahan, Brooks and five other new members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame are being inducted in Canton, Ohio, Saturday night.
