Frisco Police Ask for Help Locating Missing Man

A Frisco family is reaching out for help in finding a husband and brother missing for more than a week.

Frisco police say 60-year-old Sidney Sorenson is “critically missing” because he left his keys, wallet and cell phone behind before he disappeared.

Sorenson’s wife Diane says last Thursday, her husband was frustrated over some credit card charges when he left the house at 9 p.m. wearing tennis shoes, a baseball cap and a heavy tan coat.

“He put his keys and wallet and phone on the table – and he left,” she said, adding that it’s common for her husband to take walks, but that temperatures were below freezing that night.

Mrs. Sorenson says police have surveillance video of her husband walking from their home on Rogers Road in Frisco, heading north toward Eldorado Parkway.

Police tracking dogs have traced his scent along that route, but the scent dies off in some woods just north of the roadway, across from the Warren Sports Complex.

Mrs. Sorenson says her husband has never disappeared like this before. She says he is extremely intelligent, a member of Mensa, and, because he has Asberger’s Syndome, he is extremely routine oriented.

She says does not have any underlying health concerns that would cause him to leave home or become disoriented.

“I try to get by thinking – he’s going to be home today,” she said, through tears. “I’m just keeping hope that he’s ok.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Frisco police at 972-292-6010.
