Frisco issues mandatory water restrictions for residents

Mandatory outdoor water restrictions begin Wednesday for residents in Frisco.

Through Sept. 30, watering will only be allowed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Watering is also only allowed two days a week and coincide with a resident's trash pickup day.

Other cities have already implemented water rationing.

In Arlington, residents are forbidden to water between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. year round -- though the use of soaker hoses and hand watering are permitted. Dallasites must follow the same rules, though beginning Oct. 31 they can water at any time during the day.

Fort Worth residents are encouraged to not waste water and to follow the standard guideline of watering outside the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

If your city isn't listed, visit your city's home page. Most North Texas cities post water restriction guidelines on the water department's section page.
