Neighbors have found little peace nearly 48 hours after a woman was gunned down inside an Uptown apartment parking garage.
Two days after Kendra Hatcher, a Dallas dentist, was fatally shot, police have still made no arrests.
Police believe Hatcher, 35, was specifically targeted, but they have not released a motive. They’re searching for the driver of an older Jeep Cherokee with paper plates who they believe may have information about the shooting, according to Dallas Police Department’s Sgt. Max Geron.
"At this point we're asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating that vehicle and any occupants that may have been in that vehicle at the time," he said.
Residents at the Gables Park 17 said they have been sharing images of that Jeep on social media in hopes of catching Kendra’s killer.
“There’s a strong sense of wanting to find whoever this is and doing whatever we can even if it’s just in the smallest amount,” said neighbor Molly Phillips. “You think back and wonder ‘Did I see anything out of the ordinary? What didn’t look right?’”

Hatcher recently worked at a dentist office in Irving. Thursday night, her former co-workers and friends gathered outside her apartment to add to a growing memorial. They wanted to do something to show how much Hatcher meant to them and how her passion and kindness toward children will always stay with them.
"If she saw somebody that needed help, she would help them," Rosie Torres said. "She would always do that extra."
The group left flowers and posters outside the parking garage overnight.
Neighbors at Gables Park 17 are organizing their own meeting to address safety concerns at the complex Friday night. Since the shooting, apartment management has added a 24-hour security guard at the garage entrance where the shooter is believed to have entered.
Geron asked anyone with information to call Dallas police at 214-283-4818.
