Fans packed the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum for opening night on Friday for the ranch rodeo.

This year marks the final year for the Coliseum to play host to the nightly rodeo events. Performances will move its main events to the all-new Dickies Arena, which is still under construction, starting in 2020.

"It's sad in a way but it's also, it's wonderful to think that we've got a bigger, better place to go to," said Thomas Bailey Saunders V, whose father and grandfather also helped organize the FWSSR.

The Coliseum can hold about 5,700 people. Dickies Arena holds about 9,400.

Petting zoos and cattle barns will remain where they are currently.
