In the third similar report in two weeks, police on Thursday evening were investigating a claim from a 12-year-old boy in North Fort Worth that a man in a pickup tried to abduct him.
The boy’s mother called police about 6:30 p.m. from the family’s home in the 5000 block of Senator Drive, just three miles from Wednesday's attempted abduction near Woodland Springs Elementary School.
Holly Driggars' son, Ryan, said he was playing in a nearby park when a man pulled up in a tan pickup, possibly a Toyota, and yelled at him.
"Get in the truck now!" he quoted the man as saying. "I said, 'No.' His eyes got real wide. I started walking. I heard the door open. So I looked back. And he started chasing me. So I ran as fast as I could home."
His mother was inside.
"He comes in the house screaming, 'Mom, mom!' and it's the 'mom scream' everyone knows something is going on, that you need to pay attention to right now," she said.
The Fort Worth Police Department said they do not believe this incident is connected to the previous two.
On Wednesday, a 10-year-old girl said she was approached by a man in a red pickup on her way home from Woodland Springs Elementary.

Madison Olsen, who is also 10, said she also saw the man.
"What made me suspicious is because he was walking in his car slowly and driving like really, really slow," she said. “His head was like turning everywhere.”
The girl who said he tried to abduct her drew a sketch of a tatoo on the man's right arm. It has three crosses, each in a circle.
In that case, police said, the man told the girl her mother was in the hospital and she needed to go with him.
Madison Olsen's 8-year-old sister Alexis and other neighborhood children have all heard the story of what happened.
"And he's like, 'Hey, um, your mom told me to come pick you up since she's in the hospital. And then she's like, 'I don't know you. So bye.' And then she just ran off," she said.
And then, just last week, a third report came from a student at Caprock Elementary.
Parents have three reasons in just two weeks to be on guard.
"Watch your kids, don't let them out,” Holly Driggars said.
"I'm just glad he didn't have a gun or anything,” her son added. “Could have been a lot worse than it was."
