A Fort Worth police officer refused to give up when a man was reported missing at a salvage yard last month.
After an initial search was unsuccessful the officer went home to get his personal dog, Luca.
Luca is not assigned to the departments K-9 unit, but Officer Brock trained him to search human scent.
The latest news from around North Texas.
And Luca did just that.
He found the man stuck in waist-high mud in a nearby river.
Fort Worth firefighters and other officers worked together to free the man and get him to safety.
Luca might not be an official police K-9, but he sure did more than his part in this rescue mission.
