A Fort Worth man sentenced to death for dismembering a woman in Pennsylvania says he did the same thing to at least five women in Texas, authorities said.
Charles Ray Hicks, 40, was sentenced to death Tuesday for killing 36-year-old Deanna Null and then dismembering her body in 2008.
Null's remains were found in trash bags scattered along interstates near Philadelphia. Police said her severed hands were found hidden in the walls of Hicks' home.
Jurors deliberated for more than seven hours and asked for a legal definition of torture before deciding that Hicks deserved execution.
During the trial, prosecutors said Hicks had admitted to killing at least five Texas women before moving to Pennsylvania.
"As I understand it, yesterday he made certain admissions that he killed some women down there," Pennsylvania Assistant District Attorney Michael Mancuso said. "And that's going to also be investigated and may result in charges."
Hicks, originally from Fort Worth, lived in Burleson for several years.

Burleson police spokesman Jae Berg said department officials first heard about Hicks' connection to Burleson on NBC 5 Wednesday morning.
"We have no confirmation of any reports or incidents involving Mr. Hicks with any unsolved cases or open cases with the Burleson police department," he said. "We have looked into it. We don't have any cold cases or unsolved homicides at this time that tie into Mr. Hicks or anyone else for that matter."
The Texas Rangers contacted authorities in Pennsylvania about interviewing Hicks, Berg said.
