The Sabine-Jarvis 10-U District baseball team brings home the State Runner-Up championship after losing to the Northern LL from Midland Tuesday morning.
The little leaguers from North Fort Worth beat the Corpus Christi Oil Belt 8-3 Monday night to advance to the finals. They faced off against Northern LL from Midland, but lost the game 5-0.
Sabine-Jarvis beat Burnet 6-1 Saturday night, but then lost to Midland 7-5 in the double elimination tournament.
Last week, the little league team held a fundraiser in hopes of raising enough money to go to the Texas West State Tournament in Abilene. The team raised about $5,200, which was enough to pay for everyone on the team's two-night hotel stay, gas and food.
The league's president says they are grateful to the community and called the generous donations a blessing.
